Day 6 – On Kingsman, the movie

I watched a movie last night, Kingman: The Secret Service. It is a late-2014 movie, rated 7.8/10 on IMBD. Did I like the movie? I loved it! I even applauded when the closing credits began, while my husband laughed at me. It was funny, really well shot AND it has Colin Firth. Samuel Jackson as the bad guy is so cute, you end up liking him.

(*SPOILERS AHEAD*) If you have not watched the movie (and plan on watching), stop reading right now.

There are two things I didn’t like about the movie:

  1. (SPOILER) Why did Colin Firth’s character have to die? I waited till the end for him to come back and say, I have a bulletproof head or some such thing. It is a spy movie, anything is possible. The bad guy could have kidnapped Galahad and taken him to the bad guy cave. Why kill him?
  2. Why didn’t J.B, the pug have more screen time? Why did they put a dog in the movie and then not let it save the world?

For these two points, I shall rate the movie 4/5, instead of a 5/5. But it is a very entertaining movie. Do go watch if you haven’t already. It has been a year since the release, so I think most people must have watched it already!

I LOVED that movie. So funny! Colin Firth’s character’s death didn’t really bug me, it struck me as different from other spy movies, and that movie is so original on so many levels I felt it would’ve been cliché to bring him back. But yeah, the dog was so cute I wouldn’t have minded seeing more of him 🙂
